What is a book coach? Is it the same as an editor?
As a book coach, I approach your project holistically, considering the big picture of how you can achieve your writing goals. In contrast, an editor provides feedback on specific writing, such as grammar, writing style, and cohesion of ideas. As a coach, I’ll work with you from the planning stage all the way through to publication, offering big picture feedback and guidance to help you stay on track.
I offer developmental editing of a manuscript on a limited basis for an additional fee.
Can you guarantee that my book will sell?
While I can’t guarantee that your book will sell, I will help you write the best book you can write so that you can feel confident in your ability to pitch and publish your work.
What happens during coaching calls?
During our coaching calls, we’ll review your previous week’s submission, and then focus on addressing the most pressing issues in your writing journey, such as brainstorming ideas, answering questions, and planning the next steps.
Do you offer a referral discount?
Absolutely. If you refer someone, make sure they tell me.
What makes you qualified to be a book coach?
I have a unique blend of skills in both writing and coaching. I excel at breaking down big picture ideas into actionable steps, while also understanding your vision and goals and working with you to achieve them. My formal training includes a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary humanities, coaching courses at Author Accelerator, and nonfiction developmental editing at Club Ed.
Do you offer refunds?
All payments are nonrefundable. Coaching relationships are always evolving and it is important to me that we have regular check-ins so we can make adjustments to fit your needs.
